I had just about completed fabrication of an Allen Models American in early spring 2020. The chassis has been run successfully on compressed air but due to “circumstances”, the finished loco has yet to be hydrotested and steamed up. I still need to install a bell, sander piping, and handrails, but otherwise Number Six is ready to run.
John purchased a 1 inch scale camelback project engine with no tender. He has been working on many projects on the engine and got it to the point he could test steam it. Next he started on the tender, so he could use it to test steam the engine. Below are pictures of the engine and tender.
I am working on a ¾ inch scale Mogul using Raritan cylinders and drivers. The boiler tube is just setting on it for affect. I also made a pump using John’s drawings and reducing it to fit this engine. John used the pump from the club boiler tester and drew it up in CAD.
